Simple past tense
జరిగిపోయిన విషయాలను తెలియజేయడానికి సింపుల్ పాస్ట్ టెన్స్ ను ఉపయోగిస్తారు.
1.సింపుల్ పాస్ట్ టెన్స్ లో Action sentences ఏ విధంగా నిర్మిస్తారో తెలుసుకుందాం.
Subject + verb2 + object
సింగులర్ మరియు ఫ్లూరల్ అన్ని సబ్జెక్టులకు కూడా He, She, It, I, We, You, They లకు Verb2 ఉపయోగించి వాక్య నిర్మాణం చేస్తారు.
Verb1 + Did= Verb2 అన్న విషయాన్ని మనం గుర్తుంచుకోవాలి. Verb2 లో Did అనే సహాయక క్రియ దాగి ఉంటుంది.
Examples:
Go + Did = Went.
Ask + Did = Asked.
Talk + Did = Talked.
ఇక్కడ Did అనేది Do యొక్క భూతకాల రూపం.

సింపుల్ ఫాస్ట్ టెన్స్ లో పాజిటివ్ సెంటెన్స్ ని నెగటివ్ సెంటెన్స్ గా మార్చడానికి అన్ని సబ్జెక్టులకు కూడా (He, She, It, I, We, You, They లకు) Did not ఉపయోగిస్తే సరిపోతుంది.
సాధారణంగా వ్యతిరేక వాక్యాలకు not ఉపయోగించాలి. అయితే Tenses లో వ్యతిరేక వాక్యాలు రాయుటకు ఆయా Tenses లకు కేటాయించబడిన సహాయక్రియ సపోర్ట్ తోటి మాత్రమే Not ఉపయోగించాలి. కాబట్టి సింపుల్ పాస్ట్ టెన్స్ కు కేటాయించబడిన సహాయక క్రియ అయిన Did సపోర్ట్ తోటి Not ఉపయోగించాలి. కాబట్టి Simple past tense లో వ్యతిరేక వ్యాఖ్యలు రాయటకు Did not ఉపయోగించాలి.

పై సెంటెన్స్ ని నెగటివ్ సెంటెన్స్ గా మార్చడానికి సబ్జెక్టు He ప్రక్కన Did not ఉంచాలి.
He did not went to office yesterday (NS)
నెగిటివ్ సెంటెన్స్ ని పై విధంగా రాయడం కూడా తప్పు అవుతుంది. ఎందుకంటే
పై సెంటెన్స్ లో Did మరియు Went ఈ రెండు కూడా verb2 రూపాలు. ఒక సెంటెన్స్ లో రెండు verb2 లు ఉండడం గ్రామర్ ప్రకారంగా తప్పు అవుతుంది.
Do మరియు Does లు ఉపయోగించినప్పుడు అది ప్రజెంట్ టెన్స్ అని, Did ఉపయోగించినప్పుడు పాస్ట్ టెన్స్ అని అర్థమవుతుంది. కాబట్టి Do, Does,Did లు వాక్యంలో Tens ని (కాలాన్ని) తెలియజేస్తున్నప్పుడు ,Verb ఎల్లప్పుడూ మొదటి రూపంలోనే ఉండాలి.
కాబట్టి నెగిటివ్ సెంటెన్స్ ని క్రింది విధంగా రాస్తాము
He did not go to office yesterday (NS)(అతను నిన్న ఆఫీస్ కి వెళ్ళలేదు)

పైన ఉన్న పాజిటివ్ సెంటెన్స్ ని ఈ విధంగా కూడా రాయవచ్చు.

( Went = did + go కాబట్టి)
ఈ వాక్యాన్ని ప్రశ్న వాక్యంగా మార్చుటకు Did ని He కి ముందు ఉంచితే సరిపోతుంది.
Did he go to office yesterday? (IS)
పైన ఉన్న negative సెంటెన్స్ ని negative interrogative sentence గ మార్చుటకు Did ని He కి ముందు ఉంచాలి.
Did he not go to office yesterday? (NIS)

2.పాస్ట్ టెన్స్ లో (State sentences) స్థితిని లేదా పరిస్థితిని తెలియజేసే వాక్యాల నిర్మాణం ఏ విధంగా ఉంటుందో చూద్దాం.
- నేను పోయిన సంవత్సరం విద్యార్థిగా ఉండినాను (పోయిన సంవత్సరం నా పరిస్థితి అది)

పై రెండు వాక్యాలను ప్రశ్నా వాక్యాలుగా మార్చడానికి సబ్జెక్టు ‘I’ ప్రక్కన ఉన్నwas ని మొదటిలో ఉంచితే సరిపోతుంది.

3.సింపుల్ ప్రెసెంట్ టెన్స్ లో Possessive వాక్య నిర్మాణాన్ని ఏ విధంగా చేస్తారు possessive అంటే కలిగి ఉండడం అని అర్థము.
He, She, It, I, We, You, They లకు అన్నిటికీ కూడా గతంలో కలిగి ఉండిన అనే భావాన్ని తెలియజేయుటకు అన్నిటికీ Had అనే సహాయక క్రియ ఉపయోగిస్తారు.
Sub + had + object
గతంలో ఏదైనా కలిగి ఉండేది, కలిగి ఉండేవాడు, కలిగి ఉండేవారు, అని చెప్పడానికి Had అనే సహాయక క్రియ ఉపయోగిస్తారు.
- He had two cars ( అతనికి రెండు కార్లు ఉండేవి). ( అతను గతంలో రెండు కార్లను కలిగి ఉండేవాడు. అని ఇంత పొడుగున చెప్పలేక సింపుల్ గా అతనికి రెండు కార్లు ఉండేవి అంటారు)

Two cars = object.
- They had a great time at the party last night. (గత రాత్రి వారు పార్టీలో గొప్పగా గడిపారు) (గత రాత్రి పార్టీలో వారు మంచి సమయాన్ని కలిగి ఉండినారు)
- She had a headache after a long meeting. ( సుదీర్ఘ సమావేశం తరువాత ఆమెకు తలనొప్పి వచ్చింది.) ( సుదీర్ఘ సమావేశం తర్వాత ఆమె తలనొప్పిని కలిగి ఉండింది అని చెప్పడం భాషాపరంగా కొంత ఎబ్బెట్టుగా ఉంటుంది)
- She had a strange dream last night. (గత రాత్రి ఆమెకు వింత కల వచ్చింది) (గత రాత్రి ఆమె ఒక వింతైన కలను కలిగి ఉండింది)
5.They had a lot of homework to do.( చేయటానికి వారికి చాలా హోం వర్క్ ఉండింది)

సింపుల్ పాస్ట్ టెన్స్ లో పై వాక్యానికి వ్యతిరేక వాక్యం రాయాలంటే, గత రాత్రి వారు పార్టీలో గొప్పగా గడప లేదు అని రాయాలి.
Simple past లో ‘లేదు’ అంటే ‘Did not’ అని అర్ధం. ఇప్పుడు పై వాక్యానికి వ్యతిరేక వాక్యం రాద్దాము
They did not had a great time at the party last night.
ఈ విధంగా రాయడం కూడా తప్పు అవుతుంది ఎందుకంటే Did మరియు had లు రెండు రెండు కూడా పాస్ట్ టెన్స్ లో ఉన్నాయి సహాయక క్రియ మరియు verb రెండు కూడా ఒకే కాలాన్ని సూచించేదిగా ఉండకూడదు. సహాయక క్రియలు కాలాన్ని తెలియజేస్తున్నప్పుడు verb ఎప్పుడూ మొదటి రూపంలోనే ఉండాలి. ఇది గ్రామర్ రూల్. కాబట్టి Had కి బదులుగా దాని మొదటి రూపమైన Have ని ఉపయోగిస్తారు.
పై వాక్యంలో Had మెయిన్ వెర్బ్ గా వ్యవహరిస్తూ ఒక సంపూర్ణ వాక్యాన్ని నిర్మిస్తుంది. Had సాధారణంగా సహాయక్రియ అయినప్పటికీ ఈ వాక్యంలో verb స్థానంలో తానే verb గా వ్యవహరిస్తుంది.

కాబట్టి, పై వాక్యాన్నిThey did not have a great time at the party last night (N).అని రాస్తాము.
పై వాక్యాలను రెండిటిని ప్రశ్నా వాక్యాలుగా మారుద్దాం.

పై వాక్యాన్ని have + did = had కాబట్టి క్రింది విధంగా కూడా రాయవచ్చు

పై రెండు వాక్యాలను Interrogative sentence గా మార్చుటకు they ప్రక్కన ఉన్న Did ని ముందు ఉంచితే సరిపోతుంది.

- Did They not have a great time at the party last night? (NI)

Didn’t They have a great time at the party last night అని కూడా రాయవచ్చు
1,3,4,5, వాక్యాలను ఇదేవిధంగా Negative, interrogative, negative interrogative లలో రాయడానికి ప్రయత్నించండి.
